Heart Chakra Mediation

Written version of the heart chakra in case you would like to perform it during a meditation circle. 

This is a guided heart chakra meditation exercise, please do not listen to this exercise while driving. The purpose of this exercise is to guide you through three attention techniques you may use when doing heart chakra meditation. I urge you to please pick one of these techniques and practice it daily. It will really open up your heart and your life.

 

You’ll need your full attention through out this exercise, so please stay focused on my voice. Sitting in a straight back chair or in a half lotus position, it’s important that you keep your spine straight during this exercise. This is going to be an enjoyable and relaxing experience, please sit up straight, take a deep breath, and use your diaphragm to pull the oxygen into the bottom of your lungs. Now exhale, just breathe deeply and normally. Pay close attention to your posture; keep your back straight and shoulders square, breathing normally and naturally and deeply. Stay focused on your breathing, and feel yourself becoming more and more centered.

 

In a moment I’m going to have you take your right arm and extend it straight out to your side with your index finger pointed. Then while saying the word Meeee bring your right hand into the middle of the chest bending only at the elbow, your finger should land in the center of your sternum. This is where your heart chakra will be located.

 

Ok now extend your right arm out to your side, saying the word meeeee bring your finger into your chest bending only at the elbow. Perfect

 

Just press hard enough to cause some pressure on the spot where your finger has landed, this is your heart chakra! Place your full attention on that spot. Now just let your hand drop back in your lap while staying focused on the spot. Always keep your attention on that spot, we are now going to do three attention exercises.

 

The first exercise is a breathing exercise.

Now I want you to pay close attention to your breath, with each breath in, you’re breathing in the divine love of the universe and with each breath out your are releasing all the negativity, tension, and sense of lack and worthlessness. Allowing all self doubt to leave, (pause) This is where the neat part happens, now when you breathe in, feel the breath coming in through the heart chakra. Empowering and opening up your center and with each breathe out feel your heart chakra just relax and release! (slow) Breath in and out, good, just concentrate on breathing through the heart chakra for a few minutes, breathing in and out……….

 

 

The second exercise is a listening exercise.

Now just listen to every note of the music, now listen to the music flow into heart chakra, literally listen to the music through the heart chakra. Imagine you have a third ear located in your heart chakra and you are listening through it. Literally you can hear the music through the heart chakra, (pause) Just listen to the music coming through…………..good.

 

 

The third exercise is a visual one.

Now, with your minds eye I want you to imagine that there is a small grain of sand in the center of the heart chakra. Just hold your attention on that grain of sand and allow it to grow, it’s now growing to the size of a pea, as it continues to grow it transforms into pure glowing light, getting larger and larger, and it’s now pure light and love. See it, feel it, it’s turning a wonderful healing energizing color of light and love, it grows and fills your entire being with love and joy.

 

Just let the light and love take over your entire being. Allowing yourself to be open, full of love and happiness.

(pause)

Now, that you can see and feel the light through out your entire being, hold that for a few more seconds and as the music fads out come back to your full awareness.
